“These small spark-ignited engines enhance our existing spark-ignited offering, which now goes from 0.97 to 8.1 L,” said Jim Needam, PSI sales manager, Small Engine and Power Equipment. “With the current customers and markets we sell to today, these engines are a perfect fit for our business. We are looking to compete in the under-1.0 L business and this new offering has the pricing and power density to allow us to do just that.” |
The powerful 0.97L SSI is a 4 cylinder engine rated just below 40 hp producing 52 Ib.ft. of torque, keeping it in the SORE certification tier.
This eco-friendly .97L SSI engine holds EPA and CARB certifications through 2014 and yield an unrivaled 50% emission reduction, as compared to Briggs & Stratton, Kubota and Daihatsu*. The new liquid-cooled engine is EPA and CARB SORE (small off-road engine 1.0 L and below) certified by PSI, which acts as the manufacturer of record (MOR). As the MOR, PSI takes all emissions certification responsibility for the engines as well as engineering and applications support. Power Solutions proven track record and environmental stewardship has helped develop the most complete, low-emission compliant, spark ignited engine line in the world.
