PSI recently attended a customer event at OEM HIPOWER’s headquarters.

Global generator manufacturer HIPOWER and PSI recently showcased their relationship during a customer event Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 in HIPOWER’s main facility in Kansas. In addition to meeting with HIPOWER officials and end users, PSI featured its first completed 53-liter, 16-cylinder diesel engine during the event.

HIPOWER uses several PSI diesel and natural gas-powered engines in its commercial and industrial-grade generator lines. The OEM uses engines ranging in power output from 150 to 800 kVA for mobile applications. For industrial standby applications, HIPOWER uses PSI natural gas engines ranging from 150 kW to 1 mW and diesel engines from 200 mW to 1.6 mW, including the 53-liter product.  HIPOWER’s generators are targeted to mission-critical markets including oil and gas production.

“We have been working with PSI now for more than eight years,” HIPOWER CEO Sam Silva said.  “We’ve been very successful collaborating with each other because of the high quality of the PSI engines –including the Weichai diesel lineup – and we are looking to utilize most of their engines in our new redesigned product lines.

“PSI has been an incredible partner and is able to help us meet our North American business strategy through their continued support, whether it be on engineering applications onsite and offsite as well as their assistance with hands on-training,” he adds. “ We’ve been very content with their active support.”
